I have taken part in the 10 in 10 for the past two years and can’t recommend it highly enough! The event is extremely well organised from the moment you register to the moment you run, march, walk or stagger over the finish line! Yvonne and Ducan are both very visible on the day and have been know to pop up at various places on the course showing their support. The event manages to keep a very personal feel to it dispite it’s increasing numbers.
Make no mistake the course is a real challenge but the camaraderie and fun on the day keeps everyone going!
During the last two events the weather was APPALLING (the only thing Duncan and Yvonne could not ensure was perfect) however everyone still managed to have a fantastic time,if a little soggy and I for one am coming back again this year!

What a fabulous day we had! Despite the terrible weather everybody turned up and were in great spirits! The lower level route was a real adventure and the laughter kept everybody going! The after event party started rather early and everybody made the most of the barbecue, music and of course the local beer!

What a great bunch of folk took part and raised thousands of pounds for the MS Society!

Whilst I haven’t taken part in either (exercise just isn’t my bag!!) I volunteered to help with the drinks station at Buttermere and would just like to say I thoroughly enjoyed it – the participants were all in high spirits and the sense of community spirit just shone throughout the whole day – the event is extremely well organised by the lovely Yvonne and it’s just a great day for a great cause – so get involved next year – you will be pleased you did

This year was my first, and despite the poor weather conditions, I loved every minute of the day.
A very well organized event, with lovely people making us feel very welcome right from the start with drinks station at Buttermere and friendly marshals at every peak.
The camaraderie on the day was excellent and a lot of fun which does help keep everyone going!
I can’t recommend it highly enough! Make no mistake the course is a real challenge but not excessive, I for one am coming back again next year! Oh! and of course the local beer afterwards!

What a great day and of course raised thousands of pounds for the MS Society!

My first year this year so I thought I’d ease in with the 5 in 5 (definitely felt like a good idea when I heard the rain at 7.00 when the 10 in 10’s were starting). It’s still quite a challenge but achievable with a reasonable level of training, even for a Soft Southerner! The whole event was very well organised from start to finish, the sense of cameraderie was great and we were made to feel very included even as a mini team of 2. Don’t think I can make next year but definitely hoping to be back for the 10 in 10, hopefully with a bigger team next time! Thanks Yvonne and Dunc :)
I took part in 10in10 in 2013 and felt welcomed from the start. A lovely reception on a warm rainy June morning and we were away. I walked on my own, but met so many lovely new buddies along the way. The hike is tough, but the sponsors were generous so it was all worthwhile. The finish line was welcome and the post challenge drinks were plentiful. A superb challenge for an amazing cause. Sign up, train up and do it. You won’t regret it.

I met Duncan and Yvonne a year or so after my own MS diagnosis in 2012.
I was scouring the internet for people with MS who had done inspirational stuff, when I can across the 10in10 website.
I promptly got in touch and got an almost instant call from Duncan and we chatted for a good while, like we had known each other for ages!
For me as someone who was trying to get to grips with the diagnosis, it was refreshing to meet someone who was still pushing themselves to the limit and as positive a person you could wish to meet, MS or not.
Since then I’ve taken part in the 10in10 in 2013 & 2014, as well as following Duncan’s lead, trying to push myself and raise awareness of MS.
Along the way, I’ve meet some truely amazing people most of whom live in Keswick!
Whether you know someone with or have MS, or you just like being out and about in a stunning part of the country and want to spend the day with some great people.
I can’t recommend this event highly enough!
Duncan & Yvonne you are a true inspiration to all that you meet!
Many Thanks for all your help and support over the last couple of years

This was our first year and we loved it, fantastic people, gorgeous scenery and not forgetting the great cause it’s all in aid of. We’ll most definitely be back for 2015!
This will be our second year attending the 10in10 Challenge. We fly from America for the weekend only to be able to be part of this event!! This year is no different…we fly in on Friday morning and leave on Sunday afternoon, this is how much we have loved this experience and we hope to do many more. The efforts made by the Booth family to raise funds and awareness for this cause are remarkable and it is truly an honor to be part of this journey. It not only combines my love for the mountains but it provides a chance to some day finding a cure to a disease that could hit any of us at any time. It is a great physical challenge so be prepared but you won’t regret the process and you will certainly embrace the feeling of accomplishment when you arrive at the finish line. Great organization, great camaraderie amongst all participants. Be a part of finding a cure!
This was our first 10in10 and had a lucky team of 13 who took part. Mixed fell walking experience & 2 of us have MS so this was a personal challenge as well as wanting to raise awareness & sponsorship for the MS Society. We had amazing support from family, friends & work and raised just under £4,000. We had a fantastic & very challenging experience & not one of us will forget this for so many good reasons. Even the fitness members of the team said it was the most challenging thing they have done but thoroughly enjoyed it. I already have a team or two ready for next years challenge. Bring it on.

I decided to have a go at the ‘No Cure Always Hope’ as a ‘holiday treat’ to myself. I know how good Simon Booth is so knew I stood no chance of getting near his 8hrs 20 mins. With this pressure off I set off at 5.30am on a gorgeous July morning with no expectations-just full of excitement for the route that lay ahead. Each step of the 39 miles was a sheer joy. I was alone and self-reliant amongst the glorious north-western/western fells, drinking from streams, stopping for brief photo shots, dipping in and out of Buttermere and Borrowdale valleys, enjoying the challenge of route-finding and pacing. It was a top day out. One of the best. It was worth the challenge and definitely better than nursing an end of term hangover on the sofa!
We’re a group of school mums who enjoy walking together and each year have a weekend away doing a sponsored walk.
Having done several events in various parts of the country we came across the 10 in 10 in 2015 and a few of us decided to give it a go. The whole event was simply fabulous. The route was stunning, views aplenty. The walk is so well organised, the marshals are all the right level of encouraging and the whole thing feels intimate and family like.
In the past, we’ve chosen our walk based more upon the walk and less upon the charity involved, but this was different for the 10 in 10, Yvonne and Duncan are inspirational in the efforts to fundraise and fight for a cure for MS. Duncan’s energy and motivation in his annual challenges are all the inspiration you need to try and fundraise for this incredible worthwhile cause. Making the fundraising side of the 10 in 10 equally as important as the walk for us.

We enjoyed 2015 so much, we were back for 2016 which was equally as fabulous. I’m sure it’ll become a regular event for us.

Well done all involved. A fabulous fabulous weekend,

John & Sophie Miller
What a brilliant event, highlighting and fundraising for such an excellent cause, Multiple Sclerosis. This a highly enjoyable challenge and, whether completing the 10in10 or the 5in5, I have never seen anyone returning at the end of the walk without a broad smile on their face ready for the excellent post-event raffle and party – which even has its own beer! The Booths’ organisation is rightly professional but praise must also be given to the many volunteers Yvonne musters in support of the day. They are irrespressibly cheerful which sometimes is no mean feat on top of a windswept Maiden Moor.

Sophie and I have entered the challenge for the past 2 years and will certainly be there in 2017 perhaps with an enlarged family and friends contingent. So, if you’re moved to walk the 10in10, book early as the annually increasing numbers are a ringing endorsement of the events success

Just wanted to say thank you for a great experience on Saturday and for such a worthy cause.

My first time doing 10 in 10

Loved and hated it all at the same time as it was soo hard ?

It’s a must for me to do it again next year as I feel so good for doing it.

All the volunteers at the stations were so nice and really encouraging…the treats weren’t bad either ?.

Swinside inn was such a great atmosphere. Everyone was happy and full of energy. The man with the guitar made things even better with a little sing song.

Thanks for the really cool Berghaus T Shirt too ?

Thank you all

Just returned home having experienced and completed my first 10 in 10 challenge, and what a challenge it was! As a group we had signed up to take part in 2020 but due to the unfortunate circumstances, we had to wait until this year to attend. What an amazing day it was in every way. The communication leading up to the day was as professional as the day itself. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The attention to detail/ organisation was amazing and as a group we would like to thank the organisers and the team of volunteers involved in making the day the success it was. Yes it was physically demanding (I’ll never forget the word Robinson!) but worth every effort, the views on the day were absolutely stunning and after a tiring day the welcome we received crossing the finish line as a group will never leave us. We look forward to returning in the future to support the event and the MS charity again. Simon…Team Jokers.

My son, Tom, and I have done the 10in10 for the last 3 years and I can’t wait to book us in for next year! It is a tough walk, especially for those of us whose knees are not getting any younger, but the views are wonderful and it is so very rewarding to be part of something that feels so special and raises money for such a good cause. It is always great to see Yvonne and Duncan each year, they are both so inspirational and always smiling, and everyone who is involved with the walk – all the marshals and volunteers, etc – are wonderful and do such a good job. There is obviously such a lot of hard work involved behind the scenes and the result is an event that is so well organised and simply a joy to be part of. Well done to all, including Berghaus for their support, and see you next year!

This was my first year taking part in the 10in10 challenge, undertaken with my partner in crime Ailie Tonkin (aka The Flan Flingers). Weather perfect, great route (although I confess to grumbling a bit while toiling up Robinson!), fantastic organisation all round and a supportive and welcoming clap arriving at The Swinside at the end of the day. Roll on 10in10 2022?

Who We Are

The annual 10in10 challenge was designed and created by Yvonne Booth in 2011. It was her response to her husband Duncan's diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2010 at the age of 39. As a wife and mother of three sons, she wanted to do something positive and help raise money for research into this cruel illness. find out more →
